Safe Ways to Share Code With Teammates

Sharing a paste should be as deliberate as opening a pull request. Decide whether the audience is temporary (debugging on a call) or permanent (team wiki).

For temporary shares, use expiring links and avoid public indexes. For permanent shares, put the snippet in version control with a license note so ownership is clear.

Never paste production database dumps, customer PII, or private keys—even into private channels that feel safe. Assume every paste can leak.

Add a one-line summary at the top of every shared paste: language, purpose, and known limitations. That summary is what busy teammates actually read.
